It’s all starting to feel a bit real now that we get closer to the end of term! As I speak with our Year 6 pupils about their transition to high school, I am reminded that my last day at Whitkirk is fast approaching. I have already spent two mornings meeting with my successor, Mrs Brookes, to discuss the school, the children and our current inclusion processes and events; one of which is the Inclusion Coffee Morning! The invites have gone out this week and I’m pleased to say that Mrs Brookes will also be there, which is a great opportunity for her to meet parents as well. We will continue to meet for one morning a week until the end of the term and I feel confident that this handover will be smooth and successful.
Thank you to everybody that signed up for an inclusion drop-in this half-term. It’s always such a lovely opportunity to celebrate the progress your children have made this year and discuss transition plans.
I will be writing a Safeguarding and Inclusion Newsletter before the end of the year and I hope to see most of you before I leave. But, just in case, I’ll take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of the wonderful families I have had the honour to get to know during my time at Whitkirk. Enjoy the rest of this term (there are so many exciting events still to come!) and have a fantastic summer. I promise to keep checking in every now and then!
