Our Curriculum
Inspiring interests, developing talents and broadening horizons
At Whitkirk Primary School, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. We want every child to have opportunities to discover new interests, develop their talents, build confidence and experience success in different ways.
Our rich enrichment offer includes clubs, educational visits, visitors, sporting opportunities, music tuition, performances, outdoor learning and community experiences. These opportunities help children develop new skills, build friendships and create lasting memories.
Our approach is informed by the Department for Education's Enrichment Framework, which identifies five key areas: Civic Engagement; Arts and Culture; Nature, Outdoors and Adventure; Sport and Physical Activity; and Developing Wider Life and Future Skills.
We are committed to ensuring that enrichment is accessible to all children, including disadvantaged pupils and those with special educational needs and disabilities. We recognise that every child has different interests, strengths and starting points, and we work to remove barriers to participation.

Our enrichment opportunities evolve throughout the year, giving children the chance to explore new activities, develop their talents and make the most of their One Life.
