Our Vision and Values
The Whitkirk Way
At Whitkirk, we spent a lot of time with our children to come up with our vision, values and rules. Our Assistant Headteacher, Mrs. Martin, met with the School Council and their class representatives to work on ensuring that Whitkirk really is ‘The best that we can be’. They looked at our current behaviour policy and school values, and asked our classes what they liked and what they would like to change. Our school values have remained the same and we have simplified our Whitkirk rules to ensure that they can be followed by all stakeholders. These are so important to us and you will see them on display and happening in our behaviour and how we are around each other at school.
At Whitkirk, we work to ensure that our core values are lived through everything that we do within school. We strive for excellence on a daily basis to ensure that children develop the necessary qualities ready for their next chapter. Each half term, we focus on one of our school values. This is the focus of our weekly assemblies, and is focused on in class, and around school each half term.
Our Vision: To be the best that we can be
Our Values: Achievement. Safety. Respect. Friendship. Forgiveness, Trust.
Our Whitkirk Rules
- Achievement – we always try our best
- Safety – we take care of our resources and move around school safely
- Respect – we respect each other and value others’ opinions
- Trust – we actively listen to our friends, family and teachers
- Friendship – we are always honest with ourselves and others
- Forgiveness – we forgive ourselves and others for mistakes that are made
