Reception Network

Whitkirk Primary School is proud to have been selected as a Lead School in the Department for Education’s RISE Reception Network.

Part of the Department for Education’s Best Start in Life and RISE programme, the network brings schools together to share strong Reception practice, collaborate with colleagues and support high-quality Early Years provision.

What are Reception Networks?

Reception Networks provide opportunities for schools to work together through professional discussion, shared practice and collaborative network sessions focused on Reception provision.

Who can take part?

The network is open to:

  • Reception teachers
  • Early Years leaders
  • Senior leaders with responsibility for EYFS
  • Trust and local authority colleagues involved in Early Years provision

Colleagues from schools across Yorkshire and the Humber are welcome to attend.

What are the benefits?

Through the network, schools can:

  • share effective Reception practice
  • deepen understanding of high-quality provision
  • reflect on approaches to teaching, learning and transition
  • collaborate with colleagues across the region
  • access shared resources and evidence-informed approaches
  • visit and observe Reception provision in practice

The programme is designed to support ongoing improvement in Reception provision and strengthen outcomes for children.
