Welcome from the Headteacher
On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I would like to welcome you to Whitkirk Primary School.
We are a warm and friendly school situated in East Leeds that is committed to providing high-quality, inclusive education for all our pupils. Our dedicated and passionate staff work hard to make sure everyone feels cared for, safe and valued.
At Whitkirk, every child is recognised as individual and unique and our vision ‘to be the best that you can be’ underpins everything that we do. It is my firm belief that children only get one chance at an education and as such every moment is precious and it deserves to be the very best. We want our children to enjoy learning and to respect each other so they become confident and happy young people who when they leave us in Year 6 are ready for their next phase in their learning and are independent and compassionate members of our local, national and global communities.
Whitkirk is a much-loved primary school with a fantastic school community. We are very proud of our locality; as you can see from our school logo, we have a strong relationship with our church, St Mary’s, where we both visit reciprocally and also Temple Newsam which poses the perfect opportunity to learn about the fascinating history of our local area.
Primary school years are so important, and a time where so many special memories can be made. I am extremely proud of Whitkirk, and would be delighted to show you around our school and share our journey with you.
