Our School

Welcome from the Headteacher

Whitkirk - Pupils with Headteacher - 2024 (3)

At Whitkirk Primary School, we take pride in being a school with a big heart. It is a place where happiness, kindness, and respect are at the core of everything we do, ensuring that each child feels nurtured, safe, and valued. Our dedicated and passionate staff are committed to fostering positive relationships that support every child’s development, and we believe that by working together, we can create the best possible environment for your child to thrive. When a child is settled, safe and happy then they are able to begin their learning journey….and what a brilliant learning journey we have planned for you!

We want to work in partnership with you, our parents, as this is key to success. We will work together to make sure every child has the opportunity to achieve their potential and treat every child as the unique and extraordinary individual that they are.

We are proud to have been recognised by OFSTED, in March, for the outstanding behaviour and attitudes of our pupils, as well as the exceptional provision in our Early Years, which gives children a strong foundation for success throughout their time with us and beyond.

Whitkirk is a much-loved primary school with a fantastic school community. We are very proud of our locality; as you can see from our school logo, we have a strong relationship with our church, St Mary’s, where we both visit reciprocally and also Temple Newsam which poses the perfect opportunity to learn about the fascinating history of our local area.

We are also proud to be an academy school, part of the Red Kite Learning Trust. Please click here to learn more about what it means to be in the Red Kite Learning Trust family of schools.

Primary school years are so important, and a time where so many special memories can be made. I am extremely proud of Whitkirk, and would love you to visit us to experience our wonderful school first-hand, and become a part of our Whitkirk family.
