Our Curriculum
Preparing our children for their one life
At Whitkirk Primary School, we believe that education is about far more than academic achievement. Every child has one life, and we want to equip them with the knowledge, confidence, character and experiences to make the very most of it.
Our One Life approach brings together everything we do to support children's personal development. Rooted in our six school values of Safety, Respect, Achievement, Friendship, Forgiveness and Trust, it helps children understand themselves, build positive relationships, embrace opportunities and develop a sense of responsibility for the world around them.
Personal development is not an additional lesson or a standalone programme. It is woven throughout life at Whitkirk — through our curriculum, assemblies, friendships, enrichment experiences, pupil leadership, community involvement and the everyday choices children make.
Our One Life Approach

Our ambition is for every child to leave Whitkirk feeling confident in who they are, equipped to make positive choices and ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges of their future.
Every child. One Life. Every possibility.
