Children's Mental Health week is run by children’s mental health charity Place2Be and aims to shine a light on the importance of children and young people’s mental health.

At Whitkirk, we will be promoting the health benefits of connecting with others and walking, influenced by Dr Alex’s George’s ‘Stompcast’ and inviting families to join us in our ‘Stompathon’ Walk to school with a class friend and family throughout the week. Each time your child walks to school the week beginning 6th February, they will receive 10 dojo points.

On Friday, your child may have received a total of 50 Dojo points if they have walked to school every day throughout the week! Do not worry if you need to drive to school: all we ask is that you try and park a little bit further away than you usually would to walk and talk a short distance.

Children who access WhitKidz breakfast club will also be getting involved, and taking part in the 'Stompathon' in the Reception outdoor area each morning! We hope that the walk to school will become a chance for families to offload, discuss any current issues and generally bring a sense of happiness to the early morning walk to school! - Miss Emery
