A Special Farewell Visit from Mr Sheriff
Posted 15th January 2026
This week has been a bittersweet one at Whitkirk, as we welcomed Mr Sheriff back into school for his “last lap” before he officially leaves Red Kite Learning Trust at February half term. His visit on Tuesday created a truly memorable afternoon for children and staff alike.
From the moment he arrived, the warmth of the Whitkirk community shone through. Children greeted him with huge smiles, thoughtful questions about his future plans, and beautifully crafted cards they had made especially for him. Their genuine affection and curiosity perfectly reflected the positive impact he has had during his time with us.
Mr Sheriff was visibly moved by the warmth shown by everyone, and by the way staff and pupils came together to celebrate his time at Whitkirk. His visit was a wonderful reminder of the lasting relationships built here, and the strength of our school community.
We wish him all the very best for the future and thank him for the role he has played in shaping the Whitkirk family.
