Uniform
At Whitkirk, we have high standards – we are proud to be from Whitkirk and therefore, we wear our school uniform with pride.
It is our policy that all children should wear school uniform when attending school or when participating in a school organised event outside of usual hours.
Our policy is based on the following principles:

School Uniform Requirements
Main Uniform:
- Grey skirt, pinafore, trousers, or shorts
- White or pale blue blouse/shirt or a white polo shirt
- School sweatshirt, or royal blue cardigan, or royal blue sweatshirt
- Smart black shoes (no trainers)
Summer Options:
- Gingham summer dress in pale blue and white
- Gingham twofer dress in pale blue and white
- Gingham shorts in pale blue and white
Socks & Tights:
- Grey tights
- White or grey socks
Additional Guidelines
- We recommend that all skirts, dresses and shorts are knee‑length.
- All‑in‑ones / playsuits should not be worn.
P.E./Games Kit Requirements
All children will need:
Indoor P.E.
- Navy shorts
- Plain white t-shirt (school logo optional)
- Black pumps
Outdoor P.E.
- Navy jogging bottoms
- Navy hoodie
- Trainers
- Plain white t-shirt
Health & Safety Guidelines
For health & safety reasons:
- Children must not wear makeup.
- Jewellery is not permitted (with the exception of medical items, if required).
- Long hair must be tied back - this means any hair that can be tied back should be.
Key Stage 2 Additional Requirements
Swimming Kit:
- One piece-swimming costume or
- Swimming trunks
Teachers will inform families when swimming lessons are scheduled.

There is now a legal requirement for us to make second hand uniform available. Many schools have the PTA running an exchange or through a parents Facebook group.
