Key Stage 1 Provision
Posted 18th March 2026
Provision‑based learning plays an important role in our Key Stage 1 classrooms, supporting children to develop key skills in an engaging and developmentally appropriate way. In maths, carefully planned resources and hands‑on activities are closely linked to National Curriculum objectives, helping children revisit prior learning while exploring new concepts with confidence.
The impact has been extremely positive. Children are highly engaged, motivated and enthusiastic about maths, using practical resources to explore ideas, solve problems and work collaboratively. High‑quality adult interactions ensure children are well supported, with timely challenge and same‑day intervention where needed.
Kerry Dougan, Year 2 Teacher, said, “Continuous provision has encouraged our pupils to stretch beyond the learning objective. The impact has been incredible and has allowed us to support different groups and respond quickly to children who need it most.”
This approach allows us to maintain high expectations while building strong foundations and a genuine love of learning.
