Rebecca-Fernandes-PPA-169x300

I’m Rebecca Fernandes, PTA chairperson. I have 3 children at Whitkirk Primary and I’m passionate about making our school a fun and inclusive place for all our children.

I joined the PTA originally to get more involved in school and meet other parents and it’s turned in to so much more, I have made some amazing friends and we certainly have lots of fun preparing and creating our events.

I still remember the school fair from my primary school days and the excitement of having some pocket money to spend – my aim is to give our children the same fond memories of the events we put on as well as raising money to benefit them and their education.

I am also the founding member of the neurodiversity support network for parents at Whitkirk. The group is a way for parents and carers of children with conditions such as ADHD, ASD, dyslexia etc to talk to one another online and in person. The group is open to all and there is no diagnosis necessary.

Outside of school I am a full-time personal assistant at British Gas, so I often need to use my organisational skills to keep on top of everything we have going on!

Kelly-Balmforth-Smith-PTA-169x300 I'm Kelly Balmforth-Smith, PTA treasurer. I work part time as a Mortgage Administrator & Quality Assurance Officer for a building society and I have a Son and a Daughter at Whitkirk.

I've been part of the PTA for a number of years, holding different positions.

Being new to the area when my Son started school, I originally joined the PTA to meet other parents, and not only did I do that I quickly became more involved. I wanted to and enjoy so much been part of a team that not only want to improve their own children's experience of primary school life but also all the other children at Whitkirk.
Helen-Rawding-PTA-183x300 My name is Helen Rawding, Secretary of the PTA. I have really enjoyed being a part of this lovely group over the last 7 years. I have 2 children, Ella in year 5 and Samuel in year 7. I originally joined the PTA to get to know other parents and to be involved in organising events, which raise funds for the school and children.
